Nino Schurter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Bolo Skjold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Petter Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Kobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Espen Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Petter Skarkman came free, but Gregor Kobel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Alain Berset cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gregor Kobel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Roman Beljean made in the 36th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Alberto Giacometti. Roman Beljean kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alain Berset got free with Bolo Skjold in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gregor Kobel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrik Söderlund in the 44th minute of the match. Bolo Skjold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nino Schurter in the 46th minute of play. Ingo Minder hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's Michael Näver broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Protegéerna's supporters rose to their feet, but Petter Skarkman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregor Kobel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Gregor Kobel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 85th minute, Ingo Minder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Näver, 85 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bolo Skjold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nino Schurter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nino Schurter in the 88th minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Bolo Skjold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bolo Skjold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Wawrinka in the 95th minute of play. Ulrik Söderlund struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Gregor Kobel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Protegéerna.
