A well-hit corner resulted in Humberto Motta heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of Begu Ganjang booed when Deportivo Pucho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Tolino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Begu Ganjang's Anak Selby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Józef Mlynarczyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Delmar Jerico's late challenge caught a Begu Ganjang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmar Jerico helped the player get up and apologised. Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pucho from getting a goal against them. In the 24thth minute of the game Anak Selby who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute Deportivo Pucho were awarded a corner. Romulo Brun went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Tolino made a great header on Deportivo Pucho's corner, it was just that Begu Ganjang's Tạ I managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Östen Stor in the 35th minute of play forced Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Deportivo Pucho made a substitution. Ahmet Nasir Nesefi replaced Claudio-Paul Caniggia. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anak Selby made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Anak Selby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pucho's Wilfredo Thomas got a free kick in the 56th minute. Józef Mlynarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anak Selby in the 59th minute of play. Julio Tolino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Tạ I made a huge save. In the 62nd minute Anak Selby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tạ I took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Nasir Nesefi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 81 minutes, David Trezeguet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Begu Ganjang's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Trezeguet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, David Trezeguet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Józef Mlynarczyk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Begu Ganjang getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Manuel Aurelianu hit a great ball. Józef Mlynarczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Trezeguet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tạ I made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Tolino in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Begu Ganjang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Cipău to maneuver through the defense. Begu Ganjang were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Deportivo Pucho for a fine match.
