In the 16th minute, Cristiano Rego got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Gao Cheng Yun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions United's supporters rose to their feet, but Gao Cheng Yun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilles Eekhout breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilles Eekhout made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Geert-Jan Coomans sent off a good shot on target. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jardel Head made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 53rd minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Gilles Eekhout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilles Eekhout showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 91 minutes, Mats Hummels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Milan and the Lions United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Mats Hummels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The AC Milan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC Milan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
