In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pagos FC's goalkeeper Manuel Campens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, Pagos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Öztürk Terim to maneuver through the defense.

In the 59th minute Uwe Birmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Botescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Joks in the 62nd minute of play forced Pagos FC's goalkeeper Manuel Campens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuralp Akbal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Gigel Botescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. KS Olimpia Warszawa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damazy Joks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
