The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yenal Tanır's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gottfrid Hedström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Fotis Theofilopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Gazza having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's goalkeeper Gottfrid Hedström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorio Breogan. Ertan Duman scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armando Gazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Fotis Theofilopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armando Gazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ertan Duman, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 34th minute Ray Atkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Gazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gottfrid Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Breogan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Victorio Breogan took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gottfrid Hedström to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Acatincăi got free with Gottfrid Hedström in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gottfrid Hedström came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Juventus PTM's Yenal Tanır. But to his dismay, Yenal Tanır quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's Aias Kreskas was substituted for Pavlos Belesis. The supporters of Juventus PTM booed when ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fotis Theofilopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Besim Vecdet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Armando Gazza skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gottfrid Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Messias in the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Juventus PTM's goalkeeper Armando Gazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aias Kreskas. In the 80th minute Ferdinand Honcioiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gottfrid Hedström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute Besim Vecdet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Gazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute Ray Atkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Gazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Aias Kreskas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armando Gazza. Aias Kreskas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Besim Vecdet might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Gazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Besim Vecdet ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Messias in the 96th minute of play forced ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's goalkeeper Gottfrid Hedström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
