Spectators: 9203 (Terracing: 6904, Seating: 2116, VIP seats: 183) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alejandro Espina got the match started through his kick off. Alejandro Espina might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejandro Espina ran back to his position shaking his head. Thomás Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Espina in the 3rd minute of play. Thomás Toscano came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Roneros F.C.'s Alejandro Espina. But to his dismay, Alejandro Espina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ricardo Ceberiche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Washington Piedrahita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roneros F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Washington Piedrahita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th match minute, Roneros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Piedrahita to maneuver through the defense. Mohamed Basso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Ceberiche read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner. Wilton Fontes went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Capibaribe Stars's Wilton Fontes to fire away a dangerous shot which Ricardo Ceberiche despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mohamed Basso scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Ceberiche, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Alejandro Espina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomás Toscano. Capibaribe Stars's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alejandro Espina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 46 played minutes Roneros F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ortiz Apellaniz. Mohamed Basso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Ceberiche read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Roneros F.C. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mohamed Basso was the one to do the kick off. Capibaribe Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilton Fontes in the 52nd minute. Alejandro Espina might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejandro Espina ran back to his position shaking his head. Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Basso in the 57th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Espina came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomás Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Espina in the 61st minute of the match. Ricardo Ceberiche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohamed Basso's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano was substituted for Mohamed Basso. Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Roneros F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilton Fontes took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Hicham Al Azka managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Witomir Jestrimski might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Witomir Jestrimski ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Thomás Toscano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Costa in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute Hicham Al Azka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Ceberiche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 minutes of play, Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Ceberiche was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardo Ceberiche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Roneros F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Henry Costa came free, but Ricardo Ceberiche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Roneros F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Roneros F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
