Hubert Valler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Abad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. With his leg David Abad managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Med Gang FC's Hubert Valler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Chinese CJ Youth Academy booed when Med Gang FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Rolfsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Günther Doty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Jonsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Abad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Isak in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Alexander Isak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Med Gang FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lu Zhan Jian hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Qi Liang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Abad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Isak, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 60th minute, Liam de Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Abad was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Med Gang FC made a substitution. After some careless play in the Chinese CJ Youth Academy defense, Hubert Valler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Abad. The Chinese CJ Youth Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Abad should have stopped the shot.
