In the 9th minute, Hektor Fitrakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Greid Tinsmith was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Naw Kean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wales's supporters rose to their feet, but Naw Kean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanos Saatsakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cyprus's Epeios Solomos got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Greid Tinsmith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hektor Fitrakis in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epeios Solomos in the 37th minute of play forced Wales's goalkeeper Greid Tinsmith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greid Tinsmith showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Epeios Solomos in the 40th minute of the match. Cyprus's Aietes Rigatos got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Epeios Solomos to strike the kick off in the second half. Greid Tinsmith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epeios Solomos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epeios Solomos in the 60th minute of play forced Wales's goalkeeper Greid Tinsmith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Naw Kean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Saatsakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cyprus made a substitution. Makis Antoniadis replaced Lambros Stathopoulos. Cyprus's Kroios Gomatos was substituted for Kadmos Haritopoulos. Cyprus's Thanos Saatsakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anynnawg Hunt in the 68th minute of play. Thanos Saatsakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anynnawg Hunt in the 68th minute of the match. Mawrth Hamill took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thanos Saatsakis. Thanos Saatsakis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cyprus made a substitution. Aiolos Sarandakos replaced Epeios Solomos. After recieving a nice pass, Cyprus's Aietes Rigatos tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Wales's Greid Tinsmith got control of the ball when Aietes Rigatos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Greid Tinsmith was a little too slow when Aietes Rigatos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aietes Rigatos got free with Greid Tinsmith in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute Anynnawg Hunt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Saatsakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hektor Fitrakis in the 89th minute of play forced Wales's goalkeeper Greid Tinsmith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greid Tinsmith came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cyprus's Aiolos Sarandakos. But to his dismay, Aiolos Sarandakos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Cyprus supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cyprus would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
