Frits Sap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paio York, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Paio York fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frits Sap having to interfere. Paio York's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frits Sap read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Frits Sap came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Marcos Monsanto. But to his dismay, Marcos Monsanto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naim Ünal in the 36th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Leal Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Marcos Monsanto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Frits Sap quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in ÓKINJÔ FC's zone, Paio York stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frits Sap came out of the goal and Paio York tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frits Sap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paio York, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by ÓKINJÔ FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herberto Ribas was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Francisco Taveira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frits Sap quite easily take care of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Frits Sap stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paio York's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 53rdth minute of the game Paio York who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ÓKINJÔ FC's Frits Sap was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute Paio York shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frits Sap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frits Sap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paio York in the 56th minute of play. Portugal's Leal Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. ÓKINJÔ FC's Frits Sap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paio York in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match Marcos Monsanto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frits Sap skillfully saved the ball. In the 63rd minute Paio York shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frits Sap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after ÓKINJÔ FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herberto Ribas took the corner. In the 76th minute of the match Portugal got a corner. ÓKINJÔ FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
