Guarimanzal SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rockport the free kick. After 18 played minutes Guarimanzal SC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Trigo. When Albert Teo fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockport's protests and gave Albert Teo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Albert Teo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kiko Barreto came free in the 24th minute and tried to tip the ball over Daniz Chong, but to the joy of Rockport's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Albertinho Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Daniz Chong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rockport's Daniz Chong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aloísio Vides in the 28th minute of play. The supporters of Guarimanzal SC booed when Rockport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azam Paine didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rockport's goalkeeper Daniz Chong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Paulo de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Vasconcelos in the 43rd minute of play forced Rockport's goalkeeper Daniz Chong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

If Sharizan Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Clive Keng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dagoberto Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. If Sharizan Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Róbson Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute Sharizan Seah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Guarimanzal SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rockport throughout the match.
