A very good chance. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Iancu Rebec got a free kick in the 24th minute. Iancu Rebec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Epure having to interfere. Gelu Jumancă kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Manole Tăcutu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ioan Oltean's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. A collision led to -BZF- Valea Buzăului getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Iancu Rebec hit a great ball. In the 37th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iancu Rebec to maneuver through the defense. When Ernest Mahonea fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Rio's protests and gave Ernest Mahonea a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Mahonea.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horia Irimescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Horia Irimescu made a precise shot to the right of Manole Tăcutu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Iulian Negulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Tăcutu having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ioan Oltean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia Rio's supporters rose to their feet, but Ioan Oltean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manole Tăcutu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petruț Codreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Nechifor Epure successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 70th minute of the match, Flávio Ţugui tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nechifor Epure saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nechifor Epure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Ţugui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Ana Ţugui left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 80th minute, Academia Rio's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Flávio Ţugui fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nechifor Epure took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Ţugui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Nechifor Epure managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Emanuel Ioanițiu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Flávio Ţugui came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Ţugui couldn't finish the play.

Ioan Oltean's late challenge caught a -BZF- Valea Buzăului's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ioan Oltean helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 103 minutes play. Ioan Oltean hit a great ball. In the 110th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Baran to maneuver through the defense. If Ana Ţugui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 115th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half of extra-time was a real thriller. Both teams had created chances, but they were still tied when the whistle blew. The players were able to take a short breather during the short break.

Horia Berceanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalie and right to Ioan Oltean. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
