Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kurt Pilblad was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paulo Renato Souza showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when BK Tåfjutt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Svensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The shot was stopped by Kurt Pilblad but with some difficulty.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torsten Svensson was the one to do the kick off. Jailson de Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Kurt Pilblad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. Mattias Grep fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro de Salles having to interfere. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of BK Tåfjutt for a fine match.
