Club Atlético Atlanta's Ciro Ferdinand was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Intxixu Porregimon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 24 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germano Pernambucano. C. got a corner. Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anaia Barba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anaia Barba, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Intxixu Porregimon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Atlanta. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Pernambucano in the 65th minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Fabio Artaldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexilhão F. C. the free kick. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Fabio Artaldo hit a great ball. In the 75th match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Artaldo to maneuver through the defense. Intxixu Porregimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 79th minute of the match. Paolo Caradaro's late challenge caught a Mexilhão F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paolo Caradaro helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Caradaro.
