Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 2-2. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Jonathan Sammut made the kick off and play began. In the 101st minute Jonathan Sammut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Faust saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 102nd minute, Jonathan Sammut got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Templars FC defense, Han Guang Kang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Courtois. The Templars FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Courtois should have stopped the shot.
