Coghlan FC's Ahmet Bülent Özgur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. Máté Márton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Justin, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 5 minutes Congo Bongo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ivan Ourente who took care of the corner kick. Coghlan FC's Ivan Ourente was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Máté Márton in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Coghlan FC's Ramond Abila got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Damaso Sancho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Coghlan FC's Ahmet Bülent Özgur. Ahmet Bülent Özgur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 18th minute, Froilan Iaki made a precise shot to the right of Ahmet Bülent Özgur. Coghlan FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Damaso Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Damaso Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ahmet Bülent Özgur was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Damaso Sancho put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Ahmet Bülent Özgur. When Kaj-Åke Kaká came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Congo Bongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaj-Åke Kaká couldn't finish the play. The Coghlan FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Congo Bongo were winning 0-5.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Justin was the one to do the kick off. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Congo Bongo made a substitution. Arnaldo Oidor replaced Damaso Sancho. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Coghlan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Ubarna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Máté Márton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Justin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
