Epicuro Izquierdo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Koldobika Aponte having to interfere. 2-1 became the score in the 21st minute when Epicuro Izquierdo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. U21 Colombia's Bonifaco Sovera got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of U21 Colombia booed when U21 Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Gutierrez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the game, U21 Spain's Severiano Gutierrez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. With 42 minutes on the clock, Tibalt Bruna commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Spain's Severiano Gutierrez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Koldobika Aponte. That made the score 2-4 after 73 minutes of play. U21 Spain's Galo Campos was substituted for Epicuro Izquierdo. Galo Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Koldobika Aponte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Koldobika Aponte came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Spain's Galo Campos. But to his dismay, Galo Campos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Koldobika Aponte made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Elberg Azov sent off a good shot on target. Koldobika Aponte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Galo Campos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Koldobika Aponte was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elberg Azov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-6 in the 90 minute of play. Frichoso Ondovilla kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. U21 Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Elberg Azov scored to the left of an out of position Koldobika Aponte, making the score, 2-7.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Spain had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
