Gustav Högström struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Reynaldo Stephen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Rio Cuarto. Angelino Inautzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Edelmiro Endura kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Luisito Bikendi, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Angelino Inautzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynaldo Stephen. Club Sportivo Italiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelino Inautzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Reynaldo Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santos Montel in the 37th minute of the match. Club Sportivo Italiano's Reynaldo Stephen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Montel in the 39th minute of play. After 42 minutes of play, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Angelino Inautzi made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Stephen was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Atlético Rio Cuarto were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evelio Pes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bernardino Dimas came out of the goal in the 50th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Italiano's Theo Hayles. But to his dismay, Theo Hayles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Paulo Ferrari's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Italiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Ferrari helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th match minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Ferrari to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Atlético Rio Cuarto's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Pes came free, but Bernardino Dimas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Atlético Rio Cuarto booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Claris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelino Inautzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Stephen made a huge save. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Sportivo Italiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Eduardo da Silveira was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Rio Cuarto's players had a chance to rest. Bernardino Dimas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evelio Pes, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Angelino Inautzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Angelino Inautzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Reynaldo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santos Montel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atlético Rio Cuarto were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Club Sportivo Italiano's much stronger midfield.
