With his leg Reynaldo Stephen managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Palermo's Santiago Mino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Reynaldo Stephen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maximino Gonzalez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 76 minute of play. In the 79th minute, Palermo's Arnoldo Medina ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reynaldo Stephen. Reynaldo Stephen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Marcelino Chaime could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Stephen made a huge save. The supporters of Palermo booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilhelm Steinitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Wilhelm Steinitz. Reynaldo Stephen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Mino in the 90th minute of the match. If Santiago Mino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Palermo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palermo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
