In the 37th minute of the match, Evelio Pes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leonel Rocco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Ángel Benito in the 38th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Reynaldo Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Club Sportivo Italiano supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cascadia United's performance. The match ended with a win for Cascadia United.
