Niculae Ailenei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bento Chandeiro in the 23rd minute. Dani Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Răducanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Arthur Clarke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Călin Hoisie was slow to take the kick. During this time Romania's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthur Clarke in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dani Hernández saved Venezuela from getting behind. Dani Hernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Răducanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Romania's Iosif Cupșa to fire away a dangerous shot which Dani Hernández despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 41 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Camavinga. In the 42nd minute of the match Călin Hoisie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dani Hernández skillfully saved the ball. Dani Hernández made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Clarke in the 44th minute of play. If Claudiu Răducanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Bento Chandeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niculae Ailenei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Chandeiro in the 58th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Claudiu Răducanu came free, but Dani Hernández reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dani Hernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Răducanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dani Hernández made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Claudiu Răducanu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iosif Cupșa in the 74th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Dani Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Serafino Pestaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romania's Remus Pincharoen was substituted for Ştefan Iovan. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Fero Rovires managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Fero Rovires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niculae Ailenei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fero Rovires took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niculae Ailenei. Niculae Ailenei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Romania's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ignazio Corrales took the corner. 95 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Dani Hernández had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Clarke. If Fero Rovires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Romania's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
