The supporters of BASEL FC booed when Bandung Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Husodo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Baykal Acabey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatta Arnawa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boy Hermawan charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boy Hermawan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Boy Hermawan hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Markus Husodo's late challenge caught a BASEL FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Bandung Tigers's zone, Mihail Dumitras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hatta Arnawa came out of the goal and Mihail Dumitras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Niculae Fărcășan fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Yoppie Duaramuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd match minute, BASEL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Dailey to maneuver through the defense. Hatta Arnawa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Fărcășan, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the BASEL FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
