The crowd rose to their feet as Mbaka Mbolu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sebastián Sosa. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Sebastián Sosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 13th minute of the match. If Estevam Moroño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mbaka Mbolu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastián Sosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Manuel Campens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevam Moroño in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastián Sosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Estevam Moroño struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Manuel Campens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Mbaka Mbolu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastián Sosa. Manuel Campens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevam Moroño in the 31st minute of play. Sebastián Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mbaka Mbolu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41stth minute of the game Estevam Moroño who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Manuel Campens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Campens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Estevam Moroño in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mbaka Mbolu to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zemario Quer to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay made a substitution. Dario Betzanos replaced Estevam Moroño. 58 minutes into the game, Mbaka Mbolu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Sebastián Sosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 67 minutes of play, Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastián Sosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Uruguay's Rosario Cepa was substituted for Cordario Vivero. Uruguay's Servando Ariztimuño was substituted for Primitivo Grau. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 72nd minute of play. Dario Betzanos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Manuel Campens made a huge save. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaume Vasquez took the corner. If Mbaka Mbolu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 79th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 minutes of play, Uruguay's Servando Ariztimuño made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Campens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rosario Cepa hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Hamza Yavaş struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sebastián Sosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgium. Manuel Campens came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Servando Ariztimuño. But to his dismay, Servando Ariztimuño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Belgium had won after a very even match.
