The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolas Llin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the RIVER PLATE FC defense, Desiderio Tristan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaston Aguilera. The RIVER PLATE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaston Aguilera should have stopped the shot. Gaston Aguilera came out of the goal and Desiderio Tristan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84 played minutes Gil got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Salomon. In the 91st minute, Nicasio Franco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Americo Maiorga fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gil's protests and gave Americo Maiorga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of RIVER PLATE FC booed when Gil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Americo Maiorga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gavino Frederico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Mundo in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Gil getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Esteve Sotil hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RIVER PLATE FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
