When Oğuzcan Berat fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barbun Spor's protests and gave Oğuzcan Berat a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Barbun Spor getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Oğuzcan Berat hit a great ball. Barbun Spor's Peker Kabadayı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Gyselincx in the 5th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Barbun Spor's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Peers came free, but Peker Kabadayı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Barbun Spor's goal looked a bit too open when Benoit Jaddon came free, but Peker Kabadayı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Diego De Graef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Necdet Olgunay received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Peker Kabadayı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luckas Goddez in the 31st minute of the match. Peker Kabadayı showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ken Peers, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Diego De Graef got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peker Kabadayı quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luckas Goddez in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peker Kabadayı saved Barbun Spor from getting behind. Peker Kabadayı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Peers in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Ahmet Necdet Olgunay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mustafa Orhan Tahir to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duman Kaygun during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Wevelgem FC booed when Barbun Spor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duman Kaygun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luckas Goddez might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peker Kabadayı. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luckas Goddez ran back to his position shaking his head. If Luckas Goddez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Wevelgem FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Necdet Olgunay came free, but Viktor De Baere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Daan Baeyens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wevelgem FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barbun Spor the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Orhan Tahir in the 65th minute of play forced Wevelgem FC's goalkeeper Viktor De Baere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Barbun Spor defense, Benoit Jaddon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peker Kabadayı. The Barbun Spor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peker Kabadayı should have stopped the shot. Ken Peers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peker Kabadayı having to interfere. During the 80th minute of the match Daan Baeyens completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Daan Baeyens a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 81st minute, Daan Baeyens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Wevelgem FC's goalkeeper Viktor De Baere, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luckas Goddezs short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Peker Kabadayı to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Viktor De Baere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şeref Mehdi in the 90th minute of play. If Luckas Goddez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 93rd minute, Serdar İşkembeci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Wevelgem FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
