Viktor De Baere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Mundo in the 34th minute of play. Nicolas Llin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Viktor De Baere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Diego Inge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Llin in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Viktor De Baere saved Wevelgem FC from getting behind. 44 minutes into the game, Diego Inge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RIVER PLATE FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wevelgem FC the free kick. In the 44th match minute, RIVER PLATE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Inge to maneuver through the defense. Gualterio Mundo might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Viktor De Baere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualterio Mundo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, RIVER PLATE FC's Natalio Mendiko got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luckas Goddez came free, but Gaston Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Ron Gyselincx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Wevelgem FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Benoit Jaddon hit a great ball. Nicolas Llin had several of the Wevelgem FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Viktor De Baere as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gaston Aguilera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luckas Goddez went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Viktor De Baere made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolas Llin in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, RIVER PLATE FC's Omar Salomone got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 81st minute, RIVER PLATE FC's Gualterio Mundo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Viktor De Baere. Viktor De Baere yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 85th minute, Ron Gyselincx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gaston Aguilera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 88th minute, Nicolas Llin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER PLATE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3.
