The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when Rondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Huizinga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rondo's Orestis Lazarou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Rondo from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennart Härm got free with Orestis Lazarou in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Rondo's Jochem den Hartog got a free kick in the 21st minute. Dirk-Jan Knuppel's late challenge caught a Carloforte f.c.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some careless play in the Rondo defense, Dobromir Adamowicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orestis Lazarou. The Rondo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orestis Lazarou should have stopped the shot. Dobromir Adamowicz struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Orestis Lazarou didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carloforte f.c.. Waclaw Zajonc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacco Hekman in the 61st minute.
