Carlos Germano stood somewhat misplaced when Eliseu Guerra came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 26 minute. Alisson Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique de Lima in the 28th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique de Lima got free with Alisson Taffarel in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
