Jiang Kun Liang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Šuker, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute VC zoetwater were awarded a corner. Gusztáv Bács went to the cornerflag to take it. VC zoetwater's Gong Ying Zheng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bennvar Bøll in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bennvar Bøll's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gong Ying Zheng was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. A collision led to Het Koffiehuis getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Beau Bonnafoux hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Het Koffiehuis's zone, Håkan Šuker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jiang Kun Liang came out of the goal and Håkan Šuker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriele Koffidis to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, İbrahim Efe Akarsu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VC zoetwater's supporters crossed their fingers, but İbrahim Efe Akarsu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. VC zoetwater had played much better football throughout.
