NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's 俞锋烽 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save NEWELL´S OLD BOYS from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Cordeara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leonides Lugo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Showtime FC's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Lluciano came free, but Leonides Lugo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Lugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Lore, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Showtime FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Desiderio Florian was slow to take the kick. During this time NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's players had a chance to rest. The corner led NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Desiderio Florian to fire away a dangerous shot which Leonides Lugo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Leonides Lugo came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Conrado Lluciano. But to his dismay, Conrado Lluciano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The audience was convinced that Hermengildo Cordeara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Lugo was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Leonides Lugo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermengildo Cordeara went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Conrado Lluciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermengildo Cordeara made a kick off. Leonides Lugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermengildo Cordeara in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Conrado Lluciano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonides Lugo, 0-7. 0-8 became the score in the 55th minute when Hermengildo Cordeara elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Leonides Lugo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermengildo Cordeara's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Hermengildo Cordeara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Showtime FC's zone, Conrado Lluciano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Lugo came out of the goal and Conrado Lluciano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's 俞锋烽 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Generoso Aragones in the 64th minute of play. Leo Lore took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonides Lugo. Leonides Lugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. The crowd rose to their feet as Filiberto Mederi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonides Lugo. That made the score 0-10 in the 76 minute of play. After some careless play in the Showtime FC defense, Conrado Lluciano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Lugo. The Showtime FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Lugo should have stopped the shot. Showtime FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Hermengildo Cordeara scored to the left of an out of position Leonides Lugo, making the score, 0-12. After 85 played minutes Showtime FC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Sanduru. Hermengildo Cordeara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leonides Lugo came out and tried to block the shot, but Hermengildo Cordeara slotted it home off the left post making it 0-13 in the 86th minute. Leonides Lugo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Lore in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Conrado Lluciano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-14. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
