Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdomiro de Godoi to make the kick off. Valdomiro de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Arquett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Romando Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Mercado Paulista F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juninho Paulista took the corner. André Sundström was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 60th minute of the match, Telo Estruch got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 65 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Niva Bellido came free, but Fernando Arquett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Arixo hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Romando Futebol Clube's Juninho Paulista was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernando Arquett in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
