In the 66th match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlitos Caszely to maneuver through the defense. Dragon Hunter's Charly Tevez got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerzy Smolak during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute José Julio Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Oalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Dragon Hunter fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Colo-Colo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
