The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stu Hislop in the 8th minute of play forced • REGINA •'s goalkeeper Dobromir Szarmach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Csaba Markovits in the 30th minute of play. Dobromir Szarmach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stu Hislop in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute Leicester Lions were awarded a corner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Fanuco during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Leicester Lions booed when • REGINA • was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Fanuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 48 minutes, Will Patton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leicester Lions and the • REGINA • players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Leicester Lions getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Will Patton hit a great ball. After the first half Leicester Lions were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Şükür Hagi to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Patton in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dobromir Szarmach saved • REGINA • from getting behind. With a little luck, • REGINA •'s Dobromir Szarmach got control of the ball when Şükür Hagi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dobromir Szarmach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camron Rhodes in the 56th minute of play. Laureano Primeiro hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Leicester Lions made a substitution. Alexander-James Ford replaced Michal Budzyn. Camron Rhodes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dobromir Szarmach came out and tried to block the shot, but Camron Rhodes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 91st minute. Will Patton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Dobromir Szarmach when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 97th minute Al Bundy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
