Firmin Négrel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by ANAHA FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dany-Adams De Scheper was slow to take the kick. During this time Internazionale-RS's players had a chance to rest. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Ibañez to make the kick off.
