The audience thought a goal was coming when Voitto Nyrhinen got free with Arlindo Rossi in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arlindo Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heino Helkamo in the 23rd minute of play.
