The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to VN FC Spartak-Varna getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ademar Cabral hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Cui Liang Xiong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes VN FC Spartak-Varna's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lin Ang who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Stal Sanok's Nicu Nicuşor to fire away a dangerous shot which Hans Curtis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Cui Liang Xiong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Stal Sanok's goal looked a bit too open when Zbigniew Paraszczuk came free, but Pankracy Pasterski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Stal Sanok's goalkeeper Pankracy Pasterski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ademar Cabral. Hans Curtis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cihat Cevval in the 26th minute of the match. Pankracy Pasterski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Cui Liang Xiong notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of VN FC Spartak-Varna's Hans Curtis. Hans Curtis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hans Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ari Hakanpää in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbigniew Paraszczuk in the 42nd minute of play forced Stal Sanok's goalkeeper Pankracy Pasterski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Stal Sanok's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Valentin came free, but Pankracy Pasterski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pankracy Pasterski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Valentin in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Hans Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaroslaw Filanowski in the 68th minute of play. Boleslaw Dres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Hans Curtis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Stal Sanok defense, Zbigniew Paraszczuk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pankracy Pasterski. The Stal Sanok fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pankracy Pasterski should have stopped the shot. The VN FC Spartak-Varna fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when VN FC Spartak-Varna's Zbigniew Paraszczuk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Stal Sanok's Pankracy Pasterski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbigniew Paraszczuk in the 88th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cihat Cevval got free with Hans Curtis in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. VN FC Spartak-Varna's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
