In the 3rd minute, Diego Portela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 9th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Cleto Cordaro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong. Mao Zhen Hong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Bot came free, but Mao Zhen Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Enzo Bot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indiana Jones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Mao Zhen Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 31st minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamin Tino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrício Lustosa got free with Benjamin Tino in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino got control of the ball when Fabrício Lustosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Adolfo Fidensio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club El Progreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Fidensio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mao Zhen Hong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabrício Lustosa was the one to do the kick off. Enzo Bot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Mao Zhen Hong made a huge save. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benjamin Tino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adélio Infante's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Mao Zhen Hong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mao Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 83rd minute of play. Benjamin Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adélio Infante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Tino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adélio Infante's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. A nice corner shot did that Adolfo Silva got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benjamin Tino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club El Progreso walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
