After some careless play in the Club Vertigo defense, Önder Cebi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Caranfil. The Club Vertigo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Caranfil should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Milanese got free with Ovidiu Caranfil in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidiu Caranfil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Milanese in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Ogășanu in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ovidiu Caranfil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Club Vertigo's Ovidiu Caranfil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Rothe in the 20th minute of play. Önder Cebi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Ovidiu Caranfil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Milanese. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Önder Cebi made a kick off. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz got control of the ball when Ysmael Celerain tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Well-Well Benne in the 61st minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sydney FC had won after a very even match.
