The audience was convinced that Luisito Antequera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvaldo Brasil was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sandrinho Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Bray McJon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Bray McJon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edvaldo Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisito Antequera to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisito Antequera got free with Edvaldo Brasil in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edvaldo Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 75th minute of the match, Luisito Antequera got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Brasil was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by SAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilson Fernandez was slow to take the kick. During this time Montevideo's players had a chance to rest. Lauro Zanette tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Edvaldo Brasil. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-3 in the 76th minute. Edvaldo Brasil was a little too slow when Luisito Antequera got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 0-4. Edvaldo Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bray McJon, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisito Antequera.
