In the 15th minute of the match, Johannes Weijnandts got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elvio Lohitzun was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 21 minutes into the match, Suikerklontjes's Johannes Weijnandts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elvio Lohitzun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elvio Lohitzun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Van de Velde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Salinas FC booed when Suikerklontjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Rits didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sammy Godts came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Salinas FC's Ambrosio Frasco. But to his dismay, Ambrosio Frasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Salinas FC's zone, Arnout Marant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Lohitzun came out of the goal and Arnout Marant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mike Armentier hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnout Marant during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Salinas FC's Elvio Lohitzun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Weijnandts in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Salinas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herald Van de Goor was slow to take the kick. During this time Suikerklontjes's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Suikerklontjes's Herald Van de Goor to fire away a dangerous shot which Elvio Lohitzun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half Salinas FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johannes Weijnandts was the one to do the kick off. Elvio Lohitzun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnout Marant in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Salinas FC's Cirilo Matei got a free kick in the 60th minute. Suikerklontjes's supporters rose to their feet, but Bart Van de Velde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elvio Lohitzun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elvio Lohitzun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Kortens in the 77th minute of play. Elvio Lohitzun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johannes Weijnandts in the 80th minute of the match. Paolo Manni hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Johannes Weijnandts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Lohitzun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Matias Gilis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elvio Lohitzun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnout Marant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Salinas FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Suikerklontjes from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
