The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Frans Van Caubergen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dacian Ghițescu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dacian Ghițescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Carberry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dacian Ghițescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damazy Radzyminski, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Dacian Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damazy Radzyminski in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Dacian Ghițescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frans Van Caubergen. Henrik Ooms could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Dacian Ghițescu made a huge save. 17 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Damazy Radzyminski came free, but Dacian Ghițescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mattijs Kloots took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dacian Ghițescu. Dacian Ghițescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A nice corner shot did that Mattijs Kloots got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dacian Ghițescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Carberry in the 29th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Dacian Ghițescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silver Squad AFC's Waud De Geyter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Golo Phoenix in the 33rd minute of play. Dacian Ghițescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bror Litenboks in the 38th minute of the match. Dacian Ghițescu was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Benjamin Carberry capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benjamin Carberry really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felix Mihăilescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dacian Ghițescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damazy Radzyminski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dacian Ghițescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Silver Squad AFC. After 65 minutes, Benjamin Carberry made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Dacian Ghițescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute Frans Van Caubergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Ghițescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Silver Squad AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
