Porvoon Futura's Francesco Toldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Sjöberg in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Co Vid in the 23rd minute of play forced The Charlatans's goalkeeper Ingvar Svensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ingvar Svensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Co Vid in the 25th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrik Höijer got free with Ingvar Svensson in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paavo Hirvonen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ingvar Svensson made a huge save. Ingvar Svensson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Henrik Höijer. Ingvar Svensson was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Paavo Hirvonen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paavo Hirvonen really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After a rather tough play, The Charlatans's Elliot Åberg got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Paavo Hirvonen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ingvar Svensson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Åke Nilsson in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Co Vid was the one to do the kick off. Porvoon Futura's Paavo Hirvonen got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils-Åke Nilsson in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francesco Toldo saved Porvoon Futura from getting behind. Ingvar Svensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paavo Hirvonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ingvar Svensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Co Vid, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Francesco Toldo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nils-Åke Nilsson went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The Charlatans made a substitution. Harald Karlsson replaced Johan Sjöberg. In the 69th minute Nils-Åke Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Toldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Porvoon Futura's Big Fart quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Evert Johansson, made in the 72nd minute of the game. If Nils-Åke Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paavo Hirvonen in the 80th minute of play forced The Charlatans's goalkeeper Ingvar Svensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Porvoon Futura were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after The Charlatans's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrik Höijer took the corner.
