Luan Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronny Gantenbein in the 20th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Richard Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jardim América FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund the free kick. Borussia Dortmund made a substitution. Remy Nescher replaced Konrad Cakir. Richard Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Dominic Ott in the 30th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Luan Ramos's left hand side. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Dieter Eberle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Jardim América FC defense, Remy Nescher kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luan Ramos. The Jardim América FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luan Ramos should have stopped the shot. After the first half Borussia Dortmund were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ronny Gantenbeins short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Luan Ramos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luan Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remy Nescher in the 56th minute of play. Borussia Dortmund were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Jardim América FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lorenzo Haltinner took the corner. Lorenzo Haltinner made a great header on Borussia Dortmund's corner, it was just that Jardim América FC's Luan Ramos managed to reach the ball for a save. Dieter Eberle came out of the goal and Cristiano Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lorenzo Haltinner got free with Luan Ramos in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 88 minutes into the match, Jardim América FC's goalkeeper Luan Ramos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lorenzo Haltinner. Luan Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronny Gantenbein in the 89th minute. After 90 minutes, Téo Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jardim América FC and the Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Jardim América FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Cruz to maneuver through the defense.
