The Lions United fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Lions United's Carl Vinckx looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ivan Mourato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Vinckx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorn Preuveneer made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Wilson Baldaia sent off a good shot on target. Carl Vinckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Mourato having to interfere. Ivan Mourato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carl Vinckx's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Carl Vinckx notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Machados FC V2's Ivan Mourato. Ivan Mourato was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the match, Lions United's goalkeeper Jorn Preuveneer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Camargo. In the 26th minute, one of Lions United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lions United. Wilson Baldaia did an outstanding performance 28 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-2 to the right of an irritated Jorn Preuveneer in the goal. Henrique Benevides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorn Preuveneer having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Machados FC V2's Germano Conde ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorn Preuveneer. Jorn Preuveneer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Carl Vinckx scored 2-3 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Mourato, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dries Coremans might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Mourato. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dries Coremans ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the match, Carl Vinckx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Mourato. Machados FC V2's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carl Vinckx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. After the first half Lions United were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Germano Conde made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Carl Vinckx made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. Machados FC V2's Ivan Mourato tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Wilson Baldaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Mourato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dries Coremans in the 60th minute of play. Lions United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carl Vinckx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carl Vinckx in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ivan Mourato, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 92 minutes into the game, Lions United's Carl Vinckx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Mourato made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6.
