Xu Yun Quan scored 0-2 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Kuzník, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Xu Yun Quan sped through Tottenham Hotspur FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Martin Kuzník. After 19 minutes of play, C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Kuzník was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Tottenham Hotspur FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Poskočil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Cagna struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Martin Kuzník didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Ubaldo Fillol made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Josef Bém sent off a good shot on target. In the last second Ubaldo Fillol throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rudolf Grund in the 28thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 30 minutes into the game, Xu Yun Quan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Martin Kuzník was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xu Yun Quan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 40 played minutes Tottenham Hotspur FC got a freekick which was hit by Gejza Loucký. Martin Kuzník showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandy Spaulding, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Martin Kuzník made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 played minutes Tottenham Hotspur FC got a freekick which was hit by Gejza Loucký. Martin Kuzník showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The wind increased when Rudolf Grund made the kick off in the second half. Martin Kuzník made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Xu Yun Quan sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspur FC's goal looked a bit too open when Xu Yun Quan came free, but Martin Kuzník reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tottenham Hotspur FC's Martin Kuzník played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xu Yun Quan in the 60th minute of play. C. A. Independiente's Roy Huston was substituted for Wallace Whatley. After 62 played minutes Tottenham Hotspur FC got a freekick which was hit by Gejza Loucký. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. In the 69th minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Kuzník saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Kuzník didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when C. A. In the 87th minute, Xu Yun Quan made a precise shot to the right of Martin Kuzník. Tottenham Hotspur FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandy Spaulding got free with Martin Kuzník in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
