Rui Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to BAŞBUĞ getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Cícero das Neves hit a great ball. When Bektaş Ali Tarhun fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BAŞBUĞ's protests and gave Bektaş Ali Tarhun a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, BAŞBUĞ's Bektaş Ali Tarhun got a free kick in the 8th minute. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero das Neves in the 12th minute of play. Rui Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arif Buğra Yalkın in the 15th minute of the match. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yakup Kadri Canel in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Cícero das Neves took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Varela. Rui Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Saip Tecmil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Bektaş Ali Tarhun hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Süleyman Taşkınay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Saip Tecmil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Negri in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 53 minutes, Cícero das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BAŞBUĞ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cícero das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Pitta. In the 55th minute of the match, Cícero das Neves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rui Varela saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 55 minutes into the game, Cícero das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rui Varela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Osvaldo Santana fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio FBPA's protests and gave Osvaldo Santana a yellow card for diving instead. Osvaldo Santana hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Alphan Toker from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Rui Varela's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Wilian Alves struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Saip Tecmil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dudu Negri in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saip Tecmil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 73 played minutes BAŞBUĞ got a freekick which was hit by Bektaş Ali Tarhun. In the 80th match minute, BAŞBUĞ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bektaş Ali Tarhun to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Wilian Alves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saip Tecmil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. A collision led to BAŞBUĞ getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Cícero das Neves hit a great ball. Saip Tecmil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amadeu Pitta went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. In the 97th minute, Cícero das Neves reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rui Varela. The goal made the score 3-3. Grêmio FBPA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
