After some careless play in the Águilas Poblanas defense, Samuel Loramendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabricio Stephen. The Águilas Poblanas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabricio Stephen should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute Charles Darwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benigno Froila stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Águilas Poblanas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Darwin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
