In the 11th minute Vitaliy Fedchenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Fire Devils got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Furcas. In the 16th minute Victorio Monte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andreas Furcas hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute of the match Stojan Krhan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Fransson skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Vitaliy Fedchenko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walter Fransson was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The FC Anderlecht Huachipato fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Vitaliy Fedchenko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. After 36th play minutes Baumar Ontanilla shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Walter Fransson and just under the crossbar into goal. 40 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Lassus came free, but Walter Fransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Txilar scored 0-3 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walter Fransson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitaliy Fedchenko in the 45th minute of play forced Fire Devils's goalkeeper Walter Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half FC Anderlecht Huachipato were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vitaliy Fedchenko made a kick off. Fire Devils's Walter Fransson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitaliy Fedchenko in the 53rd minute of play. Dave Saenger charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Victorio Monte received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Walter Fransson came out and tried to block the shot, but Victorio Monte slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute, Vitaliy Fedchenko reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Walter Fransson. The goal made the score 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Vitaliy Fedchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitaliy Fedchenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Fransson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Stojan Krhan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fire Devils. Fire Devils's Walter Fransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Fire Devils from getting a goal against them. Vitaliy Fedchenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Vitaliy Fedchenko in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fire Devils's goalie prevented a goal. In the 77th minute, Baumar Ontanilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Txilar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Fransson having to interfere. The supporters of Fire Devils booed when FC Anderlecht Huachipato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitaliy Fedchenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded FC Anderlecht Huachipato left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fire Devils.
