With a little luck, Deportivo Ortegano's Bahiano Caballeria got control of the ball when Arno Luuk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12thth minute of the game Basílio Caetano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Dundee's Tom Are was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Mustikas in the 13th minute of play forced Deportivo Ortegano's goalkeeper Bahiano Caballeria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arvi Sade during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Dundee's Arvi Sade got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's goalkeeper Bahiano Caballeria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toomas Lasso. In the 21st minute, FC Dundee's Arno Luuk ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bahiano Caballeria. Bahiano Caballeria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Pogi Hanson kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute Orland Uceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Are saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Luuk came free, but Bahiano Caballeria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arvi Sade hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Basílio Caetano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tom Are having to make a save. In the 34th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Mustikas to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Orland Uceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Are saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's Basílio Caetano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tom Are narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tom Are made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Caetano in the 44th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Dundee defense, Basílio Caetano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Are. The FC Dundee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Are should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, Orland Uceda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tom Are. The goal made the score 2-2. Bahiano Caballeria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arno Luuk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Toomas Lasso notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Deportivo Ortegano's Bahiano Caballeria. Bahiano Caballeria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Deportivo Ortegano's Eguen Tavarez was substituted for Saturnino Bembe. In the 70th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Florian to maneuver through the defense. Tom Are didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basílio Caetano went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Ronald Vordenbäumen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Deportivo Ortegano's Orland Uceda got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bahiano Caballeria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arno Luuk in the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Basílio Caetano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tom Are. FC Dundee's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basílio Caetano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. Tom Are made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Vordenbäumen in the 83rd minute of play. Ronald Vordenbäumen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Tom Are tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bahiano Caballeria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toomas Lasso in the 89th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Toomas Lasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Dundee fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. Deportivo Ortegano's Bahiano Caballeria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toomas Lasso in the 91st minute of play. Orland Uceda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Tom Are made a huge save. In the 94th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaido Värk to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Eguen Tavarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC Dundee players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
