Lucílio Figueiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st match minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Hats to maneuver through the defense. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fred Renteria made the kick off in the second half. Paulino Maltez kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Tuan Tackett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Sporting Clube de Gaya players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
