The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Hartlepool fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Hartlepool's Bengt Blixt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSKA-LULIN's goalkeeper Kalin Gúlúbinov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kalin Gúlúbinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Fager in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Ralf Rask ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kalin Gúlúbinov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 14th minute, Bengt Blixt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hartlepool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 17 minutes into the game, Hartlepool's Fabian Fager nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kalin Gúlúbinov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Kalin Gúlúbinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Rask, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Borimir Pergelov charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Borimir Pergelov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Borimir Pergelov hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Kalle Kvick made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Ivo Razsukanov sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to CSKA-LULIN getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Vanko Tafrov hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Greger Åberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kalin Gúlúbinov. CSKA-LULIN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Greger Åberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. If Fabian Fager had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kalin Gúlúbinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Fager, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 45 minutes CSKA-LULIN's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Per-Oskar Kilberg who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Hartlepool's corner Per-Oskar Kilberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kalin Gúlúbinov quite easily take care of the ball. Kalin Gúlúbinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valter Vacker, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Vanko Tafrov hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The CSKA-LULIN players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hartlepool were winning 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabian Fager stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute of the match, Fabian Fager tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kalin Gúlúbinov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Bengt Blixt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hartlepool's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt Blixt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kalin Gúlúbinov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CSKA-LULIN's Kalin Gúlúbinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Rask in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Hartlepool's Ralf Rask dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. In the 66th minute, Ralf Rask left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hartlepool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. In the 76thth minute of the game Fabian Fager who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CSKA-LULIN's Kalin Gúlúbinov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. CSKA-LULIN's Kalin Gúlúbinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Fager in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, CSKA-LULIN's goalkeeper Kalin Gúlúbinov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Greger Åberg. In the 82nd minute of the match Niklas Nickel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kalin Gúlúbinov skillfully saved the ball. 87 minutes into the match, CSKA-LULIN's goalkeeper Kalin Gúlúbinov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt Blixt. In the 88th minute, Niklas Nickel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kalin Gúlúbinov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. 0-11 became the score in the 92nd minute when Fabian Fager elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Hartlepool's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
